Ordering and Timing Guidance

To improve the chance of same-day delivery, place orders as early in the day as possible. Typical cutoffs for same-day delivery are mid- to late-afternoon on weekdays, but exact times vary by shop and day of the week. Orders placed after the cutoff are usually scheduled for next-day delivery. During holidays and peak seasons (Valentine's Day, Mother’s Day, major holidays) fulfillment windows fill quickly, so order several days in advance when possible.

Delivery options you may see at checkout include:

• Same-day delivery (subject to cutoff and availability)
• Next-day delivery
• Scheduled delivery for a specific date and sometimes a time window
• In-store pickup or curbside pickup

When placing an order, provide any special delivery instructions such as preferred entrance, buzzer codes, or a secondary delivery location on the property. If delivering to a residence, consider whether the recipient may be home to receive perishable flowers.

What to Expect on Delivery Day

Deliveries are typically made between morning and early evening. Some services offer narrow delivery windows for an added fee. Drivers will usually attempt to leave arrangements in a safe, shaded area if the recipient is not available and will note where the package was left. If an address is inaccessible, the florist may contact you or leave the flowers with a neighbor depending on instructions and local policy.

Flower Care Tips to Make Blooms Last

Fresh flowers can last longer with a few simple steps:

• Trim stems at a 45-degree angle before placing them in water to increase water uptake.
• Use clean vases and fresh, lukewarm water mixed with any provided flower food.
• Remove leaves that sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
• Change the water every 2 days and re-trim stems to keep them hydrated.
• Keep arrangements out of direct sunlight, away from heating vents, and away from ripening fruit.
• For potted plants, follow light and watering guidance specific to the plant type and avoid overwatering.

Following these tips will help preserve color and fragrance for the duration of the arrangement.

Final Notes

Richmond residents and visitors have several reliable delivery options to choose from. If you need flowers for a time-sensitive event, plan ahead and confirm cutoffs with the selected florist. For special requests—such as large event installations, dietary allergy-safe choices, or sympathy traditions—contact the florist at the time of ordering so arrangements can be tailored appropriately.

We hope this guide helps you choose and care for the perfect floral gift in Richmond, California.
